Prof. Eva (Velinova) Gjorgjievska graduated from the Faculty of Philology “Blaže Koneski,” Department of General and Comparative Literature. In 2007, she obtained her Master’s degree in French Literature from the University Paris VII – Denis Diderot (Alliance Sorbonne Paris Cité, France). In 2014, she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled Metamorphoses of Identity in the Work of Marcel Proust at the University of Paris XII – Paris Est (France).
Since November 2008, she has been a faculty member at Goce Delčev University – Štip, where she teaches literature, culture, and civilization of the Romance peoples, World Literature, and French language. Her research interests include French, Italian, and comparative literature, and she has published extensively in national and international scholarly journals.
Prof. Gjorgjievska serves as a reviewer for Routledge as well as for the international journals Frontiers and Advances in Literary Studies. She has participated in several significant academic trainings, including at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris (2005), Université Toulouse II – Le Mirail (2009), Universität Regensburg (2023), and ESFAM – L’École de Management de la Francophonie in Sofia.
She is a member of the Société Française de Littérature Générale et Comparée (Sorbonne University, Paris). From 2016, she served as Managing Editor of the International Proceedings of the Faculty of Philology, and since 2022 she has held the position of Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philology. She is also a Management Committee member of the COST Action CA23137 – Print Culture and Public Spheres in Central Europe 1500–1800 (PCPSce) (2024–2028).
Her most recent publication is the book The Italian Literature and Culture of the Baroque, Enlightenment and Neoclassicism.
